Nord Minerals delivers a tailored solution for a new hydrometallurgical plant in Kazakhstan

Nord Minerals will supply three thickeners and a double-roll crusher for a new hydrometallurgical plant being built from scratch by one of Kazakhstan’s leading gold producers.

Initially, the client planned to replicate a previous plant with identical equipment. But we proposed a more advanced, customized solution — and won the tender.

The scope of supply includes:

🔹 Double-roll crusher (dimensions: 4×4.1×1.3 m, weight: 23 tons)
- Operates under feed pile conditions thanks to reverse mode
- Offers double the performance margin compared to previous systems
- Reduced roll speed minimizes wear on crushing segments and extends equipment lifespan

🔹 Thickeners:
- One 22-meter thickener
- Two 20-meter thickeners
- Two reagent preparation stations
- All units are equipped with custom-designed automation systems developed by our engineering team

Special attention was given to the oxidized pulp thickener, which processes pulp containing nearly 5% sulfuric acid at 60°C. It is made from duplex stainless steel and equipped with a fiberglass cover to prevent vapor loss and ensure resistance to aggressive chemicals.
